Orient band size chart by model

Orient is the brand where the size charts on the first page of search are quietly wrong, and wrong in both directions. One widely-copied compatibility guide prints 22mm for the Bambino Version 1 and Version 2 [34], while a second guide from the same retailer prints 21mm for those exact watches and 20mm for the Version 3 [35]. Orient's own spec pages settle it: the 40.5mm Bambino Versions 1, 2 and 3 are all 21mm [1] [2] [3], the Version 4 grew to a 42mm case and 22mm [4], and the compact 38.4mm generation is 20mm [7] [10]. The divers are the easy half of the brand: Mako, Ray and Kamasu are 22mm across the board [18] [22]. Every row below carries two independent sources, and the rows we could not verify are listed as refused, not guessed.

Quick answers: Bambino 40.5mm Versions 1, 2, 3 and 6 take 21mm. Bambino Version 4 (42mm) takes 22mm. Bambino Version 7 and the 38.4mm No Date and Small Seconds take 20mm. Bambino Version 9 (41.5mm) takes 21mm. Kamasu, Mako, Mako II, Mako III, Ray and Ray II all take 22mm. Sun and Moon takes 22mm. Stretto solar chronograph takes 20mm.

Find your version first

The Bambino naming is the obstacle. Orient sells "2nd Generation Version 1" through Version 9 alongside un-numbered variants (No Date, Small Seconds, Open Heart, 36mm), and the version number does not track the case size: Version 4 is 42mm, Version 7 is 38.4mm, Version 9 is 41.5mm, the rest of the numbered versions are 40.5mm. The reference on your caseback or warranty card is the reliable key: FAC0000xx0 is the classic 40.5mm generation, FAC0800xx0 is the Version 4, RA-AC0xxx is Version 6 and 7 territory, RA-AK08xx is the Version 9, and RA-BB / RA-AP prefixes are the 38.4mm watches. The chart: 16 verified rows

The Official lug width column is the figure printed on Orient's own product pages: orientwatchusa.com and shop.orientwatchusa.com in the US, orientwatch.co.uk and orient-watch.com internationally. The official replacement straps Orient sells itself are counted as a manufacturer source, because a strap cut by Orient for a named Bambino version at 21mm is the manufacturer telling you the width. Retailer and strap-maker sources appear as the second leg, never alone.

The 21mm question, settled with primary sources

Most Bambino versions take a 21mm strap, which is exactly the size the generic strap market stocks badly, so there is a strong commercial pull toward rounding the Bambino to 22mm and moving on. Do not. The primary record is unambiguous: Orient USA's product pages print lug width 21mm for the Version 1 [1], Version 2 [2] and Version 3 [3], and Orient sells official replacement straps named "Bambino Version 1 and 2 Strap (21 mm)" and "Bambino Version 3 Strap (21 mm)" [1] [3]. A watch brand does not cut a 21mm strap for a 22mm watch. The retailer guide that prints 22mm for Versions 1 and 2 [34] is contradicted by a second guide from the same retailer that prints 21mm for Versions 1 through 4 [35], and both are outranked by the manufacturer pages. The same pair of guides also disagree with Orient on the Version 3: one says 20mm [34], Orient says 21mm on three pages [3]. If you own a 40.5mm Bambino and everything you read says a different number, trust the 21mm and your own calipers over any chart, including this one.

Why so many Bambinos take 20mm now

Since 2022 Orient has been shrinking the Bambino line, and the small cases take 20mm: the 38.4mm No Date (RA-BB) and the 38.4mm Small Seconds (RA-AP01) are 20mm on Orient's own pages [10], Delugs' strap guide for the 38mm Bambino records a 20mm lug width [11], and the Version 7, also 38.4mm, is 20mm on both its leather and bracelet variants with matching official 20mm accessories [7] [8]. The practical divide is clean: 38.4mm case means 20mm, 40.5mm case means 21mm, 42mm case means 22mm. The one wrinkle is the Version 9 at 41.5mm, which went back to 21mm [9], so case diameter alone is a guide, not a rule. There is also a 36mm Bambino in the current international catalog (RA-BB0101S and siblings) with no published lug width anywhere we could verify; see the refused rows.

The divers are the easy case, with one spec-page trap

Mako, Ray and Kamasu are 22mm across every generation we could verify: the Kamasu on Orient USA's own pages [18], the Ray II on the same [22], the revived 41.8mm Mako on Orient UK's spec page [25], and the originals in dealer and marketplace records [29]. Strap makers who list per-reference compatibility agree across the board [19] [23]. The trap: two UK retailer pages print 20mm for the revived Mako RA-AA0824L39B [36], against the official 22mm [25] and an independent spec database reading 22mm [27]. That looks like one retailer feed error propagating to a second site, which is precisely how the Bambino 22mm myth started. And do not confuse the Mako Chronograph Solar (42.8mm, 22mm lugs [30]) with the Stretto solar chronograph (40mm, 20mm lugs [32]): one strap retailer's Stretto guide lists the RA-TX03 family at 22mm with a 42mm case, figures that match the Mako chronograph, not the Stretto, and Orient's own global and US pages both print 20mm with a 40mm case [32] [33]. Order 20mm for a Stretto.

Rows we refused to publish

The 36mm Bambino (RA-BB0101S through RA-BB0104Y, current on Orient's international sites): no published lug width found anywhere, and the only figure in the wild is a 2019 preview's screen-caliper estimate of roughly 17mm for a related 36mm model [37], which is a scaled-photo estimate, not a measurement. We publish nothing for it; measure between the lugs. Panatime's Bambino reference table prints 21mm for the Version 5 and Version 8, 20mm for the Version 2 Small Seconds, the Solar Quartz and the Peanuts 75th Anniversary edition [26]; those specific rows matched no second independent source this build, so they stay out of the chart. Orient's own naming puts the Version 5 and Version 8 inside the official 21mm "Small Seconds / Open Heart / Version 5 / Version 8" strap listing [12], which supports 21mm but is one source naming four watches at once, not a per-model spec page. The older first-generation Bambinos (pre-2017 references) and the Orient Star line are also absent: verifiable per-reference widths were not findable in two independent places, and a blank row with a real width is worth more to you than a filled one we cannot back.

Your watch is not in the table

Then measure, and do not let anyone sell you a width. Two Orient-specific traps before you search elsewhere: a 21mm reading on a 40.5mm Bambino is correct, not a typo, and a guide listing every Bambino at one width, any width, has not done the version work [34] [35].
