Frederique Constant band size chart by collection

Frederique Constant publishes what most brands hide: every product page on the brand's own site carries a spec block with Lug width (mm), Buckle width, Strap width (=lug width) and the strap dimensions in millimetres [1] [15]. That rail makes the brand chartable end to end, and it matters here, because FC's widths are not intuitive. The rectangular Carree takes 22mm, wider than the round Classics beside it at 20mm [12] [58]. The 42mm Runabout sits at the odd 21mm with an 18mm buckle [16] [56]. The Highlife prints 22mm and 25.5mm on the same page because the strap is integrated [30] [70]. And the men's and women's versions of one family can sit three widths apart [18] [19]. This chart carries 35 rows across the whole current catalog on first-party FC data, with the buckle width and the trap next to each.

Quick answers: round Classics (Index Automatic, Quartz Date, Quartz Chronograph, Healey Automatic 40mm) take 20mm. Carree, Business Timer and Heart Beat Moonphase take 22mm. Runabout 42mm and its GMT take odd 21mm straps with 18mm buckles; the 36mm ladies Runabout takes 18mm with a 16mm buckle. Highlife 41mm: 22mm spring bars under a 25.5mm integrated strap; Highlife 39mm: 24mm; ladies Highlife: 21.5mm. The width map: what FC's own fields say

Two fields do the work on every FC product page. Lug width (mm) sits in the Case table and Strap width (=lug width) sits in the Strap table, and on ordinary leather-strap watches they agree [1]. Where they disagree, the watch is telling you something: on the Carree Calendar Moonphase the case field prints 26.55 while the strap field prints 22 [15], and on the 41mm Highlife the case field prints 22 while the strap field prints 25.5 [30]. The first number is the physical opening in the case, the second is the strap that fills it. For a replacement strap on ordinary straight lugs, match the Strap width field; for the Highlife, read the trap section below before ordering, because the quick-release bars are 22mm even though the strap is 25.5mm wide [70]. Trap 1: round 20 versus Carree 22

The Carree looks like the smaller watch and takes the bigger strap. The rectangular case measures 42.3mm on its long side against 40mm for the round Classics, and the strap follows the case: FC prints 22 and 22 for every Carree Automatic, Carree Moonphase Automatic and Carree Heart Beat reference pulled for this chart [12] [13] [14], while the round Classics sit at 20 [1]. The strap retailers agree independently: cnswatchbands publishes the same pair (round Index 40mm equals 20mm confirmed against FC official specs, Carree 22mm despite the smaller visual footprint) [58], and watchband.direct's compatibility guide carries exactly two FC rows, Carree 22 and Worldtimer 20 [60]. The quartz Carree Calendar Moonphase adds a wrinkle: its case table prints 26.55 in the lug field, but the strap table on the same page prints Strap width (=lug width) 22 with an 18mm buckle, and the 22 is the number a strap must match [15].

Trap 2: the Runabout's odd 21mm, and the men's/women's split

The Runabout is FC's clearest card-carrying spec rail. The 42mm Runabout Automatic GMT FC-350RN5B6 prints Lug width (mm) 21, Strap width (=lug width) 21, Buckle width 18, Strap dimensions 80x120 [16], the second GMT colorway repeats it with a 75x120 strap [17], and the Runabout Automatic FC-303RMLN5B6 prints the same 21 and 18 with a 90x105 strap [18]. The US storefront independently prints Lug Width 21 mm on all three [47] [48], and the launch coverage repeated the 21mm figure verbatim [56] [86] [87]. The 36mm ladies Runabout FC-303RMLN3B6 prints Lug width 18 with Buckle width 16 and a 70x100 strap [19], confirmed by the US storefront at Lug Width 18 mm [49] and two dealer listings [57]. So one family name spans 21mm and 18mm: identify the case size before ordering. The Vintage Rally Healey Chronograph hides the same trick at 21mm [21] [59], as does the 42mm Slimline Perpetual [43] [80]. Trap 3: the Highlife's two numbers (22 and 25.5, or 24, or 21.5)

The Highlife has no horns: the strap's first link is built into the case on a quick-release system, which is why FC's own two fields disagree with each other and retailers disagree with both. On the 41mm models FC's global site prints Lug width (mm) 22 in the case table and Strap width (=lug width) 25.5 in the strap table, with an 18mm clasp and a 179mm steel bracelet [30] [31] [32]. FC's own accessory program resolves the contradiction: the original FCB Highlife bracelets are listed by FC dealers as Strap width 25.5 mm, Lug width 22 mm, width at clasp 18 mm, quick-release pushpins, no straight mount [70] [71]. Translation: the spring bars are 22mm, the strap module that rides them is 25.5mm wide at the case. A standard 22mm strap mounts on the bars with a visible step at the case [66]; a factory-look swap needs the FCB integrated part. The 39mm Highlife runs the same architecture at 24mm, with FC's own rubber spares named 24x18 [34] [35] and a dealer printing lug width 24 in the spec block [82]. The 34mm and 31mm ladies Highlife use a 21.5mm module with a 15mm clasp [36] [37], a half-millimetre width that dealer spec blocks reproduce exactly [72] [73].

Trap 4: bracelet variants that print a different width than the case

On four Classics lines the leather and bracelet versions of the same case carry different strap fields. The Index Small Seconds prints 20/18 on leather [5] but 18mm at the case with a 20mm clasp on the integrated bracelet [6]. The Premiere does the same in reverse: 20/18 on leather, 17mm bracelet under a 20mm clasp [7] [8]. The Business Timer's bracelet keeps the 22mm width but changes the hardware to a 22mm folding clasp on a 173mm bracelet [4]. And the Carree Small Seconds drops from an 18mm leather strap [28] to a 16mm bracelet at the case with a 15mm clasp [29]. The rule that holds across all of them: the case's lug field does not move, the strap field tracks what FC actually bolted on, so order spares against the strap field for the configuration you own, and check our spring bar sizes guide for bar lengths before swapping between them.

Strap lengths and buckle hardware

FC prints strap dimensions on every product page, and they cluster tightly: 80x120mm is the standard men's two-piece length (round Classics, Carree, Business Timer, Healey) [1] [12], 75x115mm covers the Manufacture Classics and most Highlife rubber straps [38] [34], and the Runabout ships short-tail sizes, 90x105 and 80x120 depending on reference [16] [18]. Ladies watches run 70x100 to 80x110 [19] [24]. The first number is the buckle-side piece, the second the tail piece; wrists under about 16.5cm usually need the shorter FC factory strap rather than a hole punch. FC's own spare-strap catalog names every strap as width x buckle: 20x18, 21x18, 22x18, 24x18 and 25.5x18 for the men's lines, 18x16 for the Moneta, 15x12 and 14x12 for the ladies lines [46], which is the cleanest confirmation that the 18mm and 15mm buckles in this chart are factory parts, not retailer guesses. Claims this chart refuses

Three published numbers contradict the first-party rail and are not used anywhere above. The US storefront prints Lug Width 20 mm for the Business Timer bracelet FC-270N4P6B [50], against 22 on FC's own global page for the same reference [4], 22 on the leather sibling [3], and 22 on three independent dealer listings [63] [64] [65]; 22 stands. The same storefront prints Case Length 21 mm for the Carree Ladies FC-200MC26 [50] where FC's global site prints 30 [24]; the width fields (15/12) agree, the case figure does not. And ormoda lists a 17mm band for the Carree Small Seconds FC-235S2C6 [85] against FC's 18mm strap and 16mm buckle [28]. One dealer page also prints Lug width 18 mm in its strap table for the 34mm Highlife ladies bracelet while its own adjacent fields say 21.5mm [74]; FC's 21.5 is used. When a listing disagrees with the brand's own spec block, the brand wins.
