What size strap does a Spinnaker watch take?

Every Spinnaker takes 20mm or 22mm, and the family decides. The 20mm watches are all Croft lines (Mid-Size, Pioneer, 42 Skeleton, 39 GMT), the whole Bradner family including GMTs and Pearl Divers, the Fleuss 40, the Spence 300, the Challenger and the Cahill Mid-Size: 105 of the 245 watches in the catalog. The 22mm watches are every Hull (Diver, Chronograph, California, Riviera, Titanium Bronze), every Dumas, the 43mm Fleuss with its GMT and chronograph versions, the standard Cahill, the Tesei, Piccard, Hass and Wreck: 140 watches. No Spinnaker reference prints 18, 19, 21 or 23mm.

Why do the Fleuss and the Fleuss 40 take different strap sizes?

Because they are different watches sharing one name. The original Fleuss is a 43mm case with 22mm lugs and 51mm lug-to-lug, and the Fleuss GMT and Fleuss chronographs use the same 43mm case at 22mm. The Fleuss 40 is a 40mm case with 20mm lugs and 47mm lug-to-lug. The product pages print the width in the Band line on every reference, so check whether the listing says 40 before ordering a strap.

Which Spinnaker watches take a 22mm strap?

All Hull models (42mm cases, 47.5 to 50mm lug-to-lug), all Dumas and Dumas GMT (48mm lug-to-lug), the 43mm Fleuss family (51mm lug-to-lug), the 43mm Cahill, the Tesei titanium, bronze and forged carbon models (51 to 52mm), the 45mm Piccard (52mm, 21mm thick), the Hass and the 44mm Wreck. Note the Hull trap: a 42mm Hull takes 22mm while the 42mm Bradner, Croft 42 and Challenger take 20mm, so case size alone does not decide it.

Does Spinnaker publish its own sizing chart with lug widths?

No. The Spinnaker Watch Sizing Chart.pdf linked from the product pages is a print-at-100-percent wrist template with case-diameter circles from 39 to 46mm; it prints no lug widths and notes only that lug-to-lug varies 0.5 to 0.8 inch. The width figures live in the Band line of each product page spec block, which is where every row in this chart comes from.

Spinnaker band size chart by model

Spinnaker prints a full spec block on every product page: Case Size, Case Thickness, Lug to Lug, and a Band line that opens with the width ^[1] ^[10]. We pulled the brand's whole catalog, 245 watches, and read the spec block on every one ^[30]: 105 take 20mm and 140 take 22mm, and not a single reference prints 18, 19, 21 or 23mm. The catalog is full of limited editions and collaborations, SpongeBob, Popeye, Peanuts, 4ocean, and every one of them follows its family width. The traps are name-level: the Fleuss name spans both widths, and so does the Cahill name ^[9] ^[20].

The 42mm split: same case size, two widths

Case size almost decides the strap on its own, except at 42mm, where the catalog splits down the middle. The Bradner family is 42mm and 20mm across all 38 of its watches ^[5], the Croft 42 Skeleton is 42mm and 20mm ^[3], and the Challenger is 42mm and 20mm ^[8]. Against them, every Hull is a 42mm case with 22mm lugs: the divers at 50mm lug-to-lug ^[10], the chronographs at 47.5 to 48mm, with the early color run led by the Fumee Black printing 47.5 ^[11] ^[29], the California and Riviera at 47.5mm. Two 42mm Spinnakers side by side can need straps 2mm apart, and no rule of thumb resolves it; the family name does.

The name traps: Fleuss, Cahill and the Dumas GMT

Three names in the catalog carry a split. The Fleuss is a 43mm watch with 22mm lugs and 51mm lug-to-lug ^[17]; the Fleuss 40 is a 40mm watch with 20mm lugs and 47mm lug-to-lug ^[6]. The Cahill is 43mm at 22mm ^[20] while the single Cahill Mid-Size SKU, the Sable Black, is 40mm at 20mm ^[9]. And the Dumas GMT prints two different case sizes under one name: the numbered SKUs SP-5119-11 through 44 say Case Size 44.0 ^[16] while the color SKUs like Cadmium Violet say 43.0 ^[27], with the width and lug-to-lug identical at 22mm and 48mm, so the split matters for wrist fit, not strap fit ^[28].

Length and bulk: the numbers that vary inside a width

Within the 20mm pool, lug-to-lug runs from 47mm on the Croft Mid-Size, Croft 39 GMT and Fleuss 40 ^[1] ^[4] to 51.5mm on the Croft Pioneer, the longest 20mm watch in the catalog ^[2]; the Bradner sits between at 50mm. Within 22mm, the spread is wider: the Dumas is the compact end at 48mm lug-to-lug on a 44mm case ^[15], while the Piccard is the bulk end at 45mm wide, 21mm thick and 52mm lug-to-lug ^[23]. Thickness extremes: the Spence 300 is the thinnest at 11.5mm ^[7] and the Challenger the thickest 20mm at 19mm ^[8].

The extra strap: 81 watches ship two

Most Spinnaker pages print an Extra Band line under the Band line, and 81 of the 245 watches carry one: a second strap in the box, usually rubber or nylon, at the same width as the fitted one. It is the quiet argument for buying from the brand rather than gray market: the Croft Mid-Size divers, for instance, pair a 20mm stainless bracelet with a 20mm silicone or nylon spare ^[1] ^[26].
