Pixel Watch Band Size Chart for Models 1 through 5

Google sizes Pixel Watch bands the opposite way from a normal watch. There is no lug width to match: every band clicks into a proprietary connector built into the case, so a 22mm strap from your old watch simply has nowhere to attach. The number that decides fit is your wrist circumference, and Google publishes an official range for every band it sells. This chart collects those ranges for all five generations, untangles the 41mm versus 45mm case split that starts with the Pixel Watch 3, and answers the question that catches the most buyers: which bands work on which watch. Every size figure below comes from Google's own support and store pages, cited per row.

Pixel Watch models and case sizes at a glance

Two case sizes cover the whole line. The Pixel Watch 1 and 2 shipped 41mm only; the Watch 3 introduced the 45mm case and the Watch 4 and 5 kept both. Case heights sit at 12.3 mm across the line, so the case diameter is the only dimension decision. Official figures from Google's specification pages ^[3]:

Active Band size chart: the band in every box

Every Pixel Watch ships with an Active Band in two lengths, small and large, and Google prints the same fit ranges on every generation of the same case size: 130-175 / 165-210 mm for 41mm watches and 150-185 / 165-215 mm for 45mm watches. Figures are Google's own, from the per-generation specification pages and the Google Store sizing section, cited per row.

The Watch 5 ships with an Active Band 2nd gen in the box; its published wrist ranges are identical to the original Active Band figures above ^[2]. A wrist between 165 and 175 mm (41mm) or 165 and 185 mm (45mm) falls in both the S and L ranges; Google's own sizing guidance for between-sizes wrists is to choose the smaller size ^[1]. Gradient Stretch Band: five sizes, no clasp

The Gradient Stretch Band is the woven loop band: no clasp, no holes, it stretches over the hand and settles on the wrist. That makes it the one Pixel Watch band where picking the exact size matters most, because unlike the Active Band there is no adjustment after purchase. Google's support page publishes five sizes, sold for both the 41mm and 45mm case ^{[1] [4]}:

Google also publishes a trick for sizing it without any chart lookup: clasp the Active Band that came with your watch where it feels comfortable, note which hole you used, and read the corresponding Gradient Stretch size off the diagram in the support article ^[1]. The same between-sizes rule applies: take the smaller size ^[1]. Note the material trade: the band is elastane and recycled polyester yarns and Google lists it as not sweat or water resistant ^[4], so it is a daily-wear choice rather than a workout one.

Metal Slim Band: 41mm only, sized by links

The Metal Slim Band is a stainless steel link bracelet sold in one adjustable length, and Google restricts it to the 41mm case: the store page lists it as compatible with the Pixel Watch 2, 3, 4 and 5, all in 41 mm, with no 45mm variant ^[5]. Out of the box it fits wrists 130-200 mm around, and the ten extra links plus sizing tool in the box move that range in either direction ^[5]. The support page converts wrist circumference directly into how many links to add or remove ^[1]:

Two fine-print items from the same pages: only the links with a pill-shaped mark are adjustable, and Google warns that using the Metal Slim Band or the Metal Mesh Band with the original Pixel Watch makes the band incompatible with the ECG app ^[1]. That ECG caveat matters less than it seems for current buyers, since the Metal Slim Band is not sold for the Watch 1 anyway, but it is the reason some older guides tell you to avoid metal bands for heart readings.

Other Google bands: the two-size pattern holds

The rest of the Google band catalogue follows the Active Band logic, one set of wrist ranges per case size, which is why the 41/45mm decision comes before any size label. The Crafted Leather Band, for example, uses its own ranges: on the 41mm case, S fits 137-170 mm and L fits 171-203 mm; on the 45mm case, S fits 140-180 mm and L fits 175-215 mm ^[6]. Notice the leather ranges are narrower at the top than the Active Band's: a 205 mm wrist that fits the Active Band L has no leather option at all. The store lists the leather band as compatible with the Pixel Watch 1 through 5 in 41 mm, and the Watch 3, 4 and 5 in 45 mm ^[6].

Honest gap: Google sells further bands by region and season (the Metal Links Band and Woven Band among them), and Google does not publish wrist ranges for every one of them on a single page. Rather than repeat third-party figures that vary between sellers, this chart carries only the bands with a first-party range: Active Band, Active Band 2nd gen, Gradient Stretch, Metal Slim and Crafted Leather. Compatibility matrix: what fits what

Because the connector is proprietary and identical across all five generations for a given case size, compatibility reduces to one question: 41mm or 45mm. Google's store pages list compatibility per product and the support page adds the global rule ^{[1] [4] [5] [6]}:

The practical corollary: a 41mm Watch 5 owner has the largest accessory catalogue, since every 41mm band made since 2022 fits it, while a 45mm owner is limited to bands released from the Watch 3 onward and a Watch 1 or 2 owner is limited to 41mm bands that list the older connector generation explicitly. The store compatibility lists above are the authoritative check, because a few early Watch 1 accessory listings have not been updated with the newer watches.

No lug width: the proprietary connector and third-party bands

Pixel Watch bands do not attach with spring bars. Each band end carries a built-in connector that slides into the case and locks with a release button; Google's support page describes the band pressing the release button and sliding into place, with the Watch 3, 4 and 5 shipping with bands detached in the box ^[1]. That is why no millimeter width appears anywhere in this chart: there is no lug gap to measure, and the lug width chart that governs normal watches does not apply here. It also means ordinary straps need an adapter, a pair of lug fittings that click into the Pixel connector and present standard spring bars, before any generic band can mount. Google's own word of caution on third-party bands is that accessory bands from third-party companies may not fit properly ^[1], so check the adapter's case-size designation (41mm or 45mm) the same way you would an official band. How to measure and pick a Pixel Watch band in three steps

First, settle the case size if you do not own the watch yet: measure your wrist with a tape, or with the string method in the measuring guide if you have no tape, and compare against the whole-watch ranges, 130-210 mm for 41mm and 150-215 mm for 45mm ^[7]. Google recommends millimeters for accuracy and the smaller size when you are between sizes ^[1]. Second, if you already own the watch, skip the case question and go straight to the band tables above: Active Band S or L by your case size, Gradient Stretch XS through XL, Metal Slim by link count. Third, check the compatibility matrix before any cross-generation purchase, especially 45mm bands, which simply do not exist for the Watch 1 and 2.
