Oak and Oscar band size chart by model
Oak and Oscar, the Chicago micro brand run since 2015 out of the city's watchmaking bench, prints a spec list on every current product page: case diameter, case height, 20mm lug width, lug-to-lug, and, rarer than it should be, the bracelet taper and the wrist range the bracelet actually fits [1]. We pulled the whole live catalog fresh from the brand's own sitemap, product feed and All Watches collection [24][25][26]: 23 watches, 20 of them with full printed spec blocks across four case classes, plus three archive pages that still resolve but print no specs. The width answer is almost boring: 20mm everywhere, with one 22mm exception in the archive. What nobody else charts is the rest of the fit column: a 20mm-to-16mm bracelet taper and printed 6.2 to 9.1 inch wrist ranges. No strap retailer covers the brand: watchbands.ai lists 189 brands with no Oak and Oscar page [33].

Every value above is printed verbatim in the spec list of the linked product page, pulled fresh en-US at build time. Availability and price are the brand's own store status. The taper and wrist-fit columns are only printed where the brand prints them: on bracelet-equipped pages. Two Olmsted footnotes: the Olmsted 38 and Olmsted Windup pages print 8mm case height where the sibling Olmsted pages print 10.8mm; we chart what each page prints, and flag the split rather than average it away.
Four case classes, one strap size
Oak and Oscar's current range is four case architectures, all on 20mm lugs:
- Olmsted 38 class. 38mm diameter, 44.9mm lug-to-lug, drilled lugs, the brand's compact field watch [1]. Case height splits 10.8mm on the original Olmsted generations and 8mm on the Olmsted 38 and Windup pages as printed.
- Atwood 39 class. 39mm diameter, 46.0mm lug-to-lug, 12.9mm case height including the domed crystal, on the tapered 20-16mm bracelet [6][7].
- Humboldt 39.5 class. 39.5mm case diameter with a 40.0mm bezel, 46.8mm lug-to-lug, 12.4 to 12.5mm thick [8]. This is the biggest family: the Humboldt 12-hr, Seven Year, Team Shuster and Ashland editions, the ExP-02, and the four Humboldt GMT variants.
- Jackson 40 class. 40mm case diameter, 46.4mm lug-to-lug, 14.0 to 14.5mm thick chronographs [17][20], all sold out at the brand.
Because the width never moves, strap shopping for an Oak and Oscar is a length and style question, not a compatibility question. The lug-to-lug spread is tight: 44.9mm on the Olmsted up to 46.8mm on the Humboldt class, so even small wrists are inside the wearability window the brand designs for; the printed 6.2 inch lower bound on bracelet fit backs that up.
The Burnham exception: 22mm, and only in the archive
The Burnham, the 42mm watch that started the brand, is the one Oak and Oscar that does not take a 20mm strap, and the authority is the brand's own bench: its springbar guide states that most Oak and Oscar watches take a 20mm strap and 20mm springbars, and that the Burnham takes 22mm of each [27]. The Burnham product page itself still resolves but prints no spec block at all [21], and the watch is sold out, so secondhand buyers are the audience for this row: 22mm straps, 22mm springbars, 1.80mm bar diameter, and explicitly not Seiko fat bars, whose thicker tips do not seat in the brand's lug holes.
The archive rows: Sandford, Sandford PVD
Two more archive pages still resolve without spec blocks: the Sandford in stainless and PVD [22][23], both sold out, both 40mm GMTs by the page's own description copy. Neither page prints a lug width, so this chart does not print one for them either; the springbar guide's "most watches" statement covers everything except the Burnham by name, but a chart that guesses is worse than a chart that flags. The all-watches census and the products sitemap were cross-checked so no live model was missed [24][26].

The taper column: 20-16 on the bracelet, 20-18 on the straps
This is the part of the Oak and Oscar story generic charts cannot tell you, because the numbers only exist in the brand's own page copy:
- Steel bracelet: fully articulated, tapering from 20mm solid end links to a 16mm buckle, printed as tapered (20mm-16mm) [1][7][9]. Seven removable links, screw-linked, with a quick-adjusting clasp.
- Horween leather straps: each 20mm strap is tapered and includes an 18mm stainless steel buckle [31].
- Rally straps: taper from 20mm down to 18mm at the signed pin buckle [32].
- Rubber straps: custom-designed 20mm tapered matte rubber, 130mm/75mm length without the buckle, fitting 6.2 to 8.7 inch wrists (158-220mm) [30].
The practical consequence: a replacement 20mm strap with a straight 20mm buckle will look and sit differently from the factory taper, and an 18mm buckle is the correct replacement part for leather and rubber. For strap swapping the brand also publishes its own how-to [29], and its bracelet sizing guide walks the screw-link adjustment with link-count guidance by wrist circumference [28].
How we verified this
Every spec row comes from a fresh en-US pull of the linked Oak and Oscar product page at build time, cross-checked against the brand's sitemap and live product feed so nothing in the catalog was missed [24][25]. The incumbent check ran fresh too: watchbands.ai's brand index was pulled at build and matched on its listed brand entries with positive controls (its Seiko, Citizen and Rolex entries all match, so the matcher is not vacuous) and no Oak and Oscar entry exists [33]; search was checked by two engines with no consolidated Oak and Oscar size chart found, only the brand's own pages and generic strap guides. Where a page prints no spec block, the row says so; nothing on this page is inferred from dealer listings or rounded into existence.
