A 17.5mm strap is a half width that almost no strap seller stocks; the practical options are a 17mm strap (slight gap) or a 18mm strap squeezed, and the maker's own strap shop lists no 17.5mm product.

Is the Escape Timer really a 42mm strap width?

The product page states Strap width size - 42MM, and this chart carries the number as stated. But 42mm is wider than most watch cases, let alone straps: the same page lists the case at 50*80MM and the strap length at 13.5-20.5CM, which are not consistent with a 42mm strap band width. Treat 42MM as a likely maker spec-sheet error, verify with a caliper or the maker before ordering a 42mm strap, which essentially nobody sells.

Why does the same watch appear twice with the same width?

Duplicate rows: the X6000 has two identical listings (the standalone product and a BUY 1 GET 1 version), both stating 18MM with byte-identical spec text. Each duplicate states its width, so both rows are counted in the census and flagged; no width conflicts between them.

BENLYWATCH band size chart by model

Benlydesign is the brand that states its strap width as a half millimeter. We read the spec line on every watch in the maker's own feed, 83 rows ^[17], and 56 watches state a width under one identical label: Strap width size. The mode is 20mm, but the catalog hides a 17.5mm half-width class ^[1], a 21mm odd class ^[4], a lone 24mm ^[6], and one stated 42MM outlier ^[7] that is almost certainly a spec-sheet error. A third of the catalog states no width at all, and this chart does not guess for it.

Quick answers: the 39*46.5MM round designs mostly take 20mm. The Mk-series electronics take 22mm, with the Synchronar-Mk1 at 24mm. The G-series and women's Altéra take 18mm. Redline, Mobius X5000 and GL570 take the 17.5mm half width. Planet Dashboard II takes 16mm. The Escape Timer states 42MM, which we carry as stated with an outlier warning.

The 17.5mm half width

Three watches print a width between two standard sizes: the Redline ^[1], the Mobius X5000-Quartz and the GL570. The spec line reads Strap size - 13.5-20.5CM Strap width size - 17.5MM on the Redline ^[1], and the older no-hyphen form Strap size 16~22CM Strap width size 17.5MM on the X5000 and GL570 ^[2]. A 17.5mm two-piece strap is a half width that almost no strap seller lists. The maker's own strap shop, read at build, offers 20mm and 22mm products only, so the brand that states 17.5mm three times sells nothing that fits it. The realistic options are a 17mm strap with a visible gap, an 18mm strap squeezed at the lugs, or NATO-style pass-throughs in 18mm, which tolerate a half-millimeter mismatch better than a two-piece band.

The 42MM outlier, carried as stated

The Escape Timer's page states Strap size - 13.5-20.5CM Strap width size - 42MM ^[7]. We carry it in the chart because the maker states it, but we flag it: 42mm is wider than most entire watch cases, and no other number on the page (case 50*80MM, strap length 13.5-20.5CM, stainless steel strap) is consistent with a 42mm band width. The most likely reading is a spec-sheet error at the maker. If you own an Escape Timer, measure the lug gap with calipers before ordering anything, because nobody sells 42mm watch straps.

One label, three spellings, two traps

The label discipline here is unusually clean: 53 of the 56 stated rows print exactly Strap width size - NN MM ^[10], and the three older rows (the X5000, GL570 and G100) drop the hyphen ^[2]. The traps are on either side of the number. To the left sits the strap length: Strap size - 13.5-20.5CM ^[15], which is a wrist-fit range in centimeters, not a width. What BENLYWATCH does not state

Thirteen watch rows in the feed print no width at all, and we carry them by name rather than backfill: Alien Drop, Race Timer, Lighthouse BUY 1 GET 1, T10, BUY 1 GET 1 2026, Pulse Matrix, NeoHub, Hive Core, Lighthouse Brighter, BASE60, CERBERUS, TT Turbo M4 and Revolution H. The TT Turbo M4 is the instructive one: its page prints Case size: 49*51mm Movement: Quartz Thickness: 19mm Strap size: 24*20mm ^[16], a dual lug-and-taper figure under a label that never uses the word width. That may well be a 24mm lug width with a 20mm buckle taper, but it is not stated as one, so it stays out of the census. Six strap SKUs (Band 80, the 20mm and 22mm stainless straps, the 22mm nylon strap and the two S-Series strap sets) are excluded by title class, and eight rows are accessories (boxes, gift sets, dials, covers, the movement and the mystery watch).

The name on the box

The brand renders its own name three ways. The storefront title reads BENLYWATCH, the product headers read BENLYWATCH, the warranty copy says All BENLYWATCH watches, and the vendor field in the catalog feed cycles BENLY, BENLYWATCH, Benlydesign and one KYOSI. The domain, and the contact address, are benlydesignwatch.com. We use BENLYWATCH for the brand and Benlydesign for the maker, matching the site's own dominant usage; the Altéra's vendor string KYOSI ^[8] appears to be the sub-brand or designer name on that one model.

How we verified this

We pulled the maker's catalog feed, 83 rows, on 2 October 2026 ^[17], classified every row, excluded the strap SKUs and accessories, and read the width under the one label the brand uses, in both its hyphenated and non-hyphenated spellings. Four product pages (Redline at 17.5mm, Shot at 21mm, Synchronar-Mk1 at 24mm, Escape Timer at 42MM) were re-pulled as rendered pages and their spec lines matched verbatim. Numbers that are not strap widths, the strap-length ranges and the case dimensions, were excluded by label ownership. Incumbents checked at build: the watchbands.ai brand index lists its brands with Seiko, Citizen and Rolex present and Benlydesign absent; watchpolice carries no Benlydesign lug-width content and the brand is absent from its 950-brand sitemap; no consolidated Benlydesign width chart surfaced in search ^[18]. Search indexes still list a few unpublished product pages (Redline the first version, G200, Planet Traveller); they redirect to the storefront and are not in the live catalog feed. Every figure on this page traces to the maker's own pages.
