Vostok Amphibia Band Size Chart by Case Type

Vostok answers the band size question differently from every other brand: the width belongs to the case, not the model. A 420059 Scuba Dude and a 420945 KGB dial watch take the same 18mm strap because they share the 420 case, while a 710059 Scuba Dude on the very same dial takes 22mm because its case is a 710. The generic advice "Vostoks are 18mm" is true only for the classic round case and wrong for most of the current range, and the incumbent case-width guides stop at diameter prose without a per-case lug table. This page lists 12 current case types from 18mm to 22mm, every width confirmed by the factory outlet spec system plus at least one independent source (the official USA partner, authorized dealers, or measurable retailer listings), and every honest disagreement disclosed in the row instead of averaged away.

Read the case number first

Flip to the reference. Vostok references run six digits, and the first three digits name the case and bezel while the last three name the dial [4]. The case number does not encode the diameter; it is a factory shape code [3]. So 420059 is a 420 case with the 059 dial, 090916 is a 090 case, and 710640 is a 710. The practical rule, straight from the factory's own outlet catalog: band width 18 or 22 millimeters, fixed by the case [4], with 20mm occupying the Komandirskie automatic cases and the 670. Two numbering traps to sidestep: 650 is a Komandirskie case and 670 an Amphibia case, and neither is related to the 420-family despite the digit soup; and if your watch says Vostok Europe on the dial it is a different company entirely, a Lithuanian brand owned by Koliz Vostok and built in Vilnius since 2003 [32], so nothing on this page applies to it.

Where sources disagree, and the rows we refused to publish

One disagreement is worth the price of admission, because it is the incumbent guide contradicting its own store. The ScubaDudeStore size guide prints the 120 case at 22mm strap width [3], while the product page in the very same shop for the 120512 prints Band Width 18 mm [9], and the two strongest spec lineages side with the product page: Meranom's 120812 specification table prints Strap width 18 and offers an 18mm strap add-on at checkout [7], and BuyVostok's 120509 prints Strap Width 18 [8]. Published width: 18mm, and if you own a 120, measure between the lugs before ordering a 22. The Neptune 960 row was refused outright: Meranom's own spec table for the 960762 prints the self-evidently corrupt value "Strap width 9" [33], the incumbent guide claims 22mm [3], owner measurements and the documented 2014 and 2018 release history say 20mm, and the integrated pin-and-notch mount means ordinary spring bar straps do not fit without factory adapters anyway. The women's 05 case was refused for a simpler reason: the 18mm figure appears in exactly one guide [3] with no second source anywhere. Both are absent from the table rather than guessed.

The mount matters as much as the width

Every case in the table above is an ordinary spring bar mount, which means any straight-end strap or NATO of the right millimeter width fits; that is the whole reason the Amphibia is a strap platform. The exceptions are engineering, not width: the Neptune 960's center-lug pin mount, noted above, and the thick domed acrylic crystals that make NATO straps sit the case high on the wrist, which long-term owners consistently flag [5].
